17th January 2016 - Bukit Timah Railway Station

This weekend, I traveled to west Singapore (like SG so big like that) to check out the other railway station i was told of with a good friend of mine. Quite a long journey from my home (somewhere east). I got lost while looking for the place via google map! But after some 30 minutes, finally got it.

A bit of history, this station opened on the dismantled Tank Road mainline in 1903, was rebuilt on the current Singapore–Johor Bahru KTM Intercity mainline in 1932, until the Jurong Line shut down and it was a crossing loop station in the late 1940s until closure. The station was a freight interchange for the now defunct Jurong Line from 1965 to the early 1990s. On 1 July 2011 the line closed following a historic land-swap agreement between the Singapore and Malaysia governments which saw rail service between Woodlands and Tanjong Pagar cease.

More historic details, check out : "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bukit_Timah_railway_station"

This is a picture shot on the train bridge. The structure was still pretty solid judging by the fact that it was built waaaay back.

Reached the station.

Only part of the station was accessible for public. But I was lucky enough to be allowed access into the restricted area thanks to the bro who was doing mantainence. Thanks bro! Whoever you are! =D

Was trying to capture something here. As you can clearly see, I suck at shooting with models as my subject. LOL

Once again, trying to capture something. When i entered the room, I immediately wanted to capture the feeling of this place being abandoned. Not my kind of photography though... heh

I checked out the perimeter of the area. Some of the details of the small structure caught my attention.

Alright that's it! After the last picture I went dinner and headed home. Was quite a hot day. I was drenched with sweat! Till next time!
Phique out~
